Simultaneous parallel activities in other countries

The documentation in retrospect is meager, but it could have been press conferences and meetings where they wanted to draw attention to how the environmental problems should be tackled in a relevant way and how the basic problems should be addressed.

This was before the Internet, e-mail and Facebook, etc., which is why the co-operation seldom had the same intensity and impact as now, but they foreshadowed recent global simultaneous actions against climate threats, dictatorships and wars, etc.

In any case, reports came in which showed that simultaneous actions took place in Copenhagen, Oslo, Amsterdam, London, New York, Sidney and London.

One of the more prominent local initiatives was the Danish environmental organization, which on World Environment Day arrived with a ship in Stockholm on Skeppsholmskajen, after taking water samples all the way along the Swedish east coast since leaving Copenhagen.
